Nicholas Jackson joined the Techs in Lex team in the fall of 2012. He has been immersed in the computing world since childhood. He began by tinkering with old hand-me-down computers from his parents’ small business before beginning to build his own as a teen. He has held a variety of technical positions over the years, from CAD drafting of telecommunications schematics, to being a field technician for a major cable provider, to five years of combined experience as an undergraduate researcher at two different UK nanotechnology labs, and throughout it all his passion for computers has remained strong.
As a member of Techs in Lex, Nicholas brings strong analytical and troubleshooting skills acquired from past professional and hobbyist experience, and uses them in assisting clients with their IT needs. A lifelong Lexington resident, Nicholas attended the University of Kentucky, where he studied Economics with Minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. Outside of computers, Nicholas is also an avid sports fan (especially of UK basketball) and enjoys camping, Ultimate Frisbee and philosophizing about how to cure all the world’s ills.
